This policy explains how train-app.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can choose which ones we use. The site is run by Train App Limited, a company based in the United Kingdom.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser's session storage and tracking pixels, work in much the same way. In this policy we call them all cookies.
How we use them
We use three kinds. Strictly necessary cookies are always on, because the site needs them. Analytics and marketing cookies are only used if you allow them, and nothing optional loads before you choose. You can change your mind at any time.
Strictly necessary
These keep the site working and can't be switched off.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| ta_cookie_consent | Train App | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics and marketing cookies, so we don't ask on every page. | 6 months |
Analytics (only with your consent)
These help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages they view, which buttons they click, the device and browser they use and their approximate location, so we can improve it. We use PostHog, which stores the data in the European Union. It doesn't set cookies: it keeps a random identifier in your browser's session storage, which is deleted when you close the tab.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_…_posthog | PostHog (EU) | A random identifier that links the pages you view during one visit. | Until you close the tab |
Marketing (only with your consent)
These let Meta, which runs Facebook and Instagram, measure our ads and show you relevant ones. If you allow them, the Meta Pixel runs on this site and sends Meta details such as the pages you visit and whether you start a free trial. Meta may link this to your Facebook or Instagram account and uses it under its own privacy policy.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta | Identifies your browser so Meta can measure our ads and show you relevant ones. | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta | Records that you arrived from one of our Facebook or Instagram ads. | 90 days |
| fr and other facebook.com cookies | Meta | Set by Meta on its own websites, for advertising, if you're signed in to Facebook or Instagram. | Set by Meta (see Meta's Cookie Policy) |
Changing your choices
You can change your choices at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or with the button below. If you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics and marketing cookies this site can reach and stop using them.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, the site can't remember your choices.
To control how Meta uses your information for ads, use your Facebook ad preferences.
Our apps
This policy covers train-app.com. The Train App web app (app.train-app.com) and our mobile apps use storage that's needed to keep you signed in. How we handle your data there is explained in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when the cookies we use change, and ask for your consent again if we add a new kind of optional cookie.
